Daniel Stewart is a beloved yoga and meditation teacher, co-founder of Rising Lotus Yoga in Sherman Oaks, and a Jungian-based depth psychotherapist. He developed and leads the Yoga philosophy & psychology module of the RLY teacher training, and he shares his love of music as a healing and transformational experience though the art and practice of ecstatic Kirtan.
Daniel is dedicated to ongoing study of the practice of awakening, fully and playfully to wholeness in each moment. He believes that all spiritual and psychological practices - Eastern and Western - lead to this truth: we are most fully alive when we discover and align with what is authentic in our Selves and express that essence passionately and creatively. In his dynamic classes, workshops, and retreats, Daniel weaves together music, Eastern philosophy, depth psychology, poetry, and laughter to create vibrant, healing environments. His approach allows students to quiet their minds, release physical tension, and rediscover a deep sense of well-being, happiness, and joy.
He can be found leading Yoga Church on Sunday morning at Rising Lotus Yoga, and leading kirtan there every third Saturday.
Bear is a foster who survived the streets and was brought back to safe, loving relationship over the years with Daniel. Bear is a Havana Brown, the only breed of fine that is rich brown. He is also called Ernesto, a nod to Ernest Hemingway, and El Diablo Moreno. You can figure that one out on your own. :)
